MCYSA recreational teams are coached by volunteers that may or may not have soccer coaching experience. To enable coaching enjoyment and success, MCYSA provides all volunteer coaches an opportunity for in-house coaching training, as well as coaching education courses through Kentucky Youth Soccer. There are always licensed coaches available for guidance and support. MCYSA continues to make every effort to improve the coaching expertise of all coaches.
In addition to hands on education, there are a number of resources available on the web and books. We have provided links to some of this information in the Coaching Links section of the site (this is not an authoritative list, but a good start!).
Coach's Code of Conduct
To enable a positive and rewarding soccer experience for all involved with MCYSA programs, especially the players, the MCYSA requires all players, coaches, referees, and spectators to play, coach, officiate and enjoy soccer in accordance with the MCYSA Code of Conduct. Coaches are expected to set a good example at all times and must insure players understand and comply with the Code of Conduct. Individuals not able to comply with the Code of Conduct will loose their privilege to participate in and enjoy MCYSA programming.
